Sugardermabrasion

As I get older, my skin is changing.  What was once consistently oily is now sometimes oily, sometimes dry, and sometimes flaky, thanks to any number of factors.  Right now, my skin is all at once oily, flaky, and broken out.  Hooray.  It's like a perfect storm of bad skin.

I can deal with the oiliness and the breakout, but I just cannot get around the dryness and flakiness.  Makeup won't cover that up.

It was time to bust out the big guns!

Sadness
I've long been a fan of natural beauty solutions; in fact, this scrub was the first thing I ever mixed up for myself as a teenager.  It works like a charm for rough skin.  It's great on your face, neck, and hands.  It's much gentler than the usual almond scrubs, and cheaper than the microdermabrasion products on the market.

The steps are simple.  READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP...

Mix a small amount of milk and white sugar together to make a thick but viscous paste.  You won't need much at all.  Let the sugar sit for about 10 minutes to let the hard edges of the sugar granules dissolve.  This ensures the scrub isn't harsh on your skin.

Smear it all over your skin, avoiding the delicate eye area.

Scrub until your fingers feel weird!

Leave on for a few minutes.  Rinse until your skin is clean.  (I don't have an "after" photo, because I had no makeup on by that point, and that's not a pretty sight right now.)

Your skin will unbelievably soft and smooth.  When you are finished, moisturize your skin with virgin coconut oil or a heavy moisturizer, drink a big glass of water, and go to sleep.   That being said, I recommend doing this before bedtime so that your skin can rest with the rest of you.

UPDATE:  I recommend you give your skin time to recover between scrubs.  I do it about once a week, but you could probably do every three days.

I hope you like this simple and inexpensive beauty solution.
