Bedroom Textiles: Arrival

I felt a little like Buddy the Elf finding out that "Santa" was on his way to Gimbal's when the Dwell Studio peacock fabric I ordered on eBay arrived from Latvia.

Take a look after the jump...

It is really beautiful.

I was even more excited to see how well it looked on my yellow duvet cover.

I obviously haven't made the pillows yet, but I will do that, hopefully, very soon.

The overall bedroom project is coming along.  I finally found lamps I liked for my nightstands last night at Target. I have been using some lamps with mismatched shades I borrowed from my mom's house since I moved in (10 months ago), and probably could have kept them (because mom is the best!) but they were short and not really my style.  They served me well while I looked for something I thought I could live with spending money on.

I was looking for something with a clear base that was tall, but not too wide. These stacked block lamps from Target fit the bill.  I stared at them for about an hour trying to decide, but I'm glad I went with them.  They seem a little glamorous to me, but still subtle.
The new lamps (only one shown, obviously) inspired me to clean up and start styling my nightstands.  They look better than they did.  I didn't take "before" pics or you'd see how bad they were - stacks of books, the cat's water bowl (because she will only drink water on my night stand - don't ask), remote controls, a box of Kleenex, Vick's Vapo-Rub, and other nonsense.

It may seem weird, but I slept really well last night, and I really think it's because my night stands were uncluttered and sporting matching lamps. So...yeah.

Thanks for following along as I work on my house!
