Little Letters from Little Shannon: Volume 2

I really do like these Little Letters Link-Ups that Emily Meyers does on her blog.  I like how she fosters a sense of a community among bloggers, even if she has 2300+ followers and I have six (plus a handful of secret followers who have emailed and texted me their votes for the color I will paint my end tables).

So here goes.

Dear immune system, thanks for nothing, because I am sick again.
Dear friends with kids, thanks for letting me hold and hug and kiss your little ones (when I'm not sick).  It does my heart good.
Dear eBay, I hope you're pleased with yourself, because you keep enticing me to buy decor for my house, and I'm starting to go broke.
Dear project deadlines, couldn't you be less close together, please?
Dear Pooja, when you are not being horrible, you are the sweetest little furry companion, especially when I am sick.
Dear Falling Skies, you are a crazy good show and I need to stop watching you late at night (courtesy of Amazon Prime Video), at the expense of my beauty sleep.
Dear weather forecast, you keep saying it's going to rain, and then it never does. And also, I feel a little like Margaret Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility in telling you that.
Dear God, thank you for the care You provide through the love of friends and family, who constantly bless and encourage me in word and deed.

As an addendum to that last little letter, it seems like, whenever I feel discouraged or alone or overlooked, God reminds me that He is a God who sees*.  This last week, I've been blessed by breakfast with my sassy friend Becky, a visit from my dear friend Anne, who helped me plant tomatoes, by my stepdad Ed, who came and worked on my yard and wheeled all my cans to the curb for me last night (which was a nice surprise, since I was sick as a dog and was fretting about doing it when I got home after work), and then again by Anne, who told me her awesome electrician husband Frankie had decided to come over today and convert the old sockets in my 74-year old house so that they are grounded and my house doesn't burn down.  I also found out that a friend whose resume and cover letter I helped with got the job he had applied for.

God is so good!

*Genesis 16:13, "Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, 'You are a God who sees [me];' for she said, 'Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?'"
